Samsung

Samsung is a Seoul-based South Korean multinational conglomerate. It owns subsidiaries across many industries, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Life, Samsung Fire, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Techwin, Samsung Motors, and Samsung C&T.

Founded in 1938 by Lee Byung-chul as a trading company, the group expanded over its first three decades into finance, insurance, securities, and retail; entered electronics in the late 1960s; and moved into shipbuilding and construction in the mid-1970s—steps that powered its later growth.
