Nearly two centuries ago in the Qajar era, renowned merchant Haj Mohammad Mehdi Javaheri sourced exceptional gems from many regions and brought them to Tehran—designing jewelry alongside trade. With taste and foresight he established a timcheh in Tehran’s bazaar and trained his children as masters of the craft.

His children expanded the family shop. The late Morteza Javaheri invited all his children into the trade; among them, Haj Mahmoud’s renown grew furthest—and the Goharbeen name carried that jewelry heritage forward.
